Geothermal
Altitude Energy Partners is redefining geothermal energy by applying our directional drilling expertise to geothermal wells.
By drilling long horizontal laterals deep into geothermal formations, we ensure maximum contact with target zones, tapping into the abundant energy found in layers of hot water and steam, unlocking the full potential of geothermal resources and driving productivity to new depths.
U-Turn Wells: Strategic Financial Benefits
Altitude Energy Partners has refined U-turn well drilling, allowing operators to access larger reservoirs, particularly in unconventional formations.
Essential for multi-stage hydraulic fracturing, these wells enable precise fracture placement, improving overall recovery. U-turn wells also provide substantial financial benefits by enabling two-mile laterals in stranded sections, reducing drilling and completion costs compared to traditional methods.
U-turn wells offer significant financial benefits by extending reach to access previously uneconomic reserves, turning them into profitable opportunities. By eliminating the need for intermediate sections, they reduce capital expenditure, cutting drilling and completion costs while maximizing return on investment. These wells increase the rate of return (ROR) by 25-40%, driven by improved resource extraction and effective use of drilled footage. Additionally, U-turn wells simplify operations, reducing trips and equipment wear, which lowers maintenance costs. They also deliver similar footage to two one-mile laterals while reducing expenses, making them a strong choice for challenging reservoirs.
Pinnacle BHA
Our Pinnacle BHA development showcases a journey of overcoming challenges in harsh drilling environments. Here’s how we got there:
Pre-2017
High lost in hole (LIH) rates and tool
failures made RSS risky in
tough basins
2017
Tested Orbit RSS with
a Delaware Basin operator, but LIH
issues persisted.
2018
Improved durability with
stronger premium connections and
nonmag collars.
2022
Refined tool OD and performance.
Orbit became ideal for laterals, G2 for
curves and high-angle sections.
The engineered BHA solution excels in
challenging environments where
previous tools failed.
Its design reduces shock and
vibration, enabling extended run
times and efficient one-run laterals.
Optimizing neutral tendency and maintaining steering decreases wellbore tortuosity, leading to smoother operations, quicker casing, higher production rates, and lower costs. Engineering enhancements include a refined tubular design for faster assembly, fatigue-resistant components for better stress management, and flex collars that direct bending forces to tubular bodies, greatly improving durability.
